Best Dressed Gingerbread Character
Massive congratulations to Naomi Curran and her team from The Salon Upstairs with their ‘Hair Fairy’ who won this year’s ‘Best Dressed Gingerbread Character‘ to the theme heroes and villains, as judged by the children who took part in the trail.
Naomi said: “We wanted to have a laugh and bring the fun and creativity back into our salon. Our aim was to make our gingerbread colourful & we chose the name Hair Fairy as we have discovered that many people rely on our services – not necessarily because of lockdown Hair, but because our clients love talking with us and saying how much better they feel after a visit to our salon and with our team! It is vital to get creative and understand how releasing our ‘inner child’ leads to a more productive way of working. Ultimately we wanted to do something for the local children that would really be memorable for them.”

Winner of Prize Draw – Adult
Many congratulations to Deborah Grogan for winning the prize draw in this year’s Leek United Heritage Town Trail.
Deborah said: “The heritage trail was very well put together, it must have taken an awful lot of thought and planning and even though we have lived in the area for more than 30 years we learnt an awful lot about Market Drayton itself and also its fabulous gingerbread history. The Ginger & Spice Festival has grown into one of the best events in Shropshire and we can’t wait to come again next year!”

Thank you to all the supporters of the hamper prize including the spicy street market stall holders and the local businesses.
