We are delighted to annouce that Palethorpes Bakery, part of The Compleat Food Group, are named as headline sponsor of the ‘Palethorpes Bakery Children’s Cookery Theatre’ at this year’s 6th annual Ginger and Spice Festival.
A team of chefs from Palethorpes Bakery, supported by volunteers, will lead a series of cookery workshops for children, focused on healthy eating and with an emphasis on the importance of choosing seasonal and local ingredients.
The Children’s Cookery School workshops will take place on Saturday 24th September from 10am to 3pm at the Parish Rooms, Church Street, in Market Drayton and they will be free of charge.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Leanne Massey, Senior HR Manager for The Compleat Food Group said: “At Palethorpes Bakery we’re proud of our Market Drayton roots and so we are delighted to be supporting the festival as a headline sponsor this year. Market Drayton has developed a thriving community of food producers and manufacturers and so it’s important that we take time to inspire the next generation whilst educating them on the importance of healthy eating and sourcing sustainable ingredients.”
The Palethorpes Children’s Cookery Theatre will allow children to get their hands on and create some healthy and delicious bakes and treats, as well as some fun food experiments.
It is also a chance for children to get a sensory guide to tastes, smells and colours of foods and of course learn how to make pastry and pies.
The event is completely free of charge, however, spaces are limited per session, and so it is essential for parents to book in advance. There will be at least five sessions which will last 40 minutes for up to 15 children at a time throughout the day.
Parents and guardians are required to stay with their child at their session.
To book a session, please go the What’s On page by clicking below. Tickets will be live soon!
