This year, we are delighted to be partnering with a business new to the town of Market Drayton –  award winning, independent estate agents, Dourish and Day.

Located in the high street in the centre of the town, Dourish and Day launched their Market Drayton branch in June 2022 and have been making a splash ever since!

We are thrilled to have them on board at the festival as headline sponsor of our popular grand finale Live Jazz and Blues concert with Colin Browne Band and Friends at St Mary’s Church Market Drayton taking place on Saturday 24th September 2022.

Ahead of the event, we wanted to share some news about their business and find out how they are settling into the fantastic town of Market Drayton!

We caught up with, Steve Dourish, one of three directors of the business to hear a little bit more about their latest news:

Exciting times for Dourish and Day – how is everything going so far at the new branch?

We’ve had a fantastic start to our brand new office with clients being impressed with our modern office in the centre of Market Drayton. We’ve had numerous clients who have transferred their property management business to us, together with lots of clients who have asked us to help them find the perfect property to buy and sell their existing home.

Why did you open a branch in the town?

We felt that the position of the office was perfect and after the previous estate agent, Follwells, not opening after the pandemic, we took the decision to knock through the two shop units to create a bright spacious show room. Market Drayton has always had 3 estate agents for as long as I remember, and people still want to deal with agents on a face-to-face basis, so opening in the centre of Market Drayton seems to the perfect solution. Prior to opening, we had sold several properties in the area and had fantastic reviews and subsequently decided that a forward thinking agency like us, was just what Market Drayton needed.

What services do you offer?

We assist with all property elements and as you’d expect buying, selling and renting. In addition to this, we also are able to assist clients looking to sell their property by auction, people who need a survey doing on a property and we have a close relationship with Solicitors and Financial Advisors too who not only assist clients with mortgages, but can also assist our landlords and tenants with competitive insurance quotes. We have a large portfolio of properties that we manage for landlords too.

How do you differ from other estate agents

On several levels – firstly, we are accessible from 9.00am to 9.00pm – 7 days a week and when you call, you’ll always speak to one of our team members rather than a call centre. We believe that service is key when buying, selling or renting and we have a fantastic software system allowing clients to keep up to date with the latest developments with their property.

What’s the best thing about Market Drayton?

For me, I’d have to say it would be the location. Whilst the town has grown hugely over the last few years, and now attracts a lot of people who commute to the wider towns and cities, Market Drayton seems to be a great base for those who want some stunning countryside on their doorstep with beautiful walks all year round and of course a walk along the canal provides some stunning sights.

What’s your favourite spicy food?

This one is so easy! That would have to be a good curry although I’d stop at a Madras. Anything hotter and that would be a no go for me!
