Chef Dan Smith

Chef Dan Smith is a classically trained chef turned baker with a serious passion for all things pastry.

Fuelled from an early age from his grandma’s cooking, he then worked at The Yorke Arms as part of their pastry team in Francis Atkins’ Michelin starred kitchen.

After building experience working with Tony Singh in Edinburgh, and training in butchery, Dan has worked in some of Shropshire’s busy restaurants and hotels.

He is now following his true passion and has set up his own bakery, The Pastry Box, located in Wem and Newport Indoor Market, as well as supplying lots of Shropshire’s butchers, shops and delis with plenty of delicious bakes!
