Original Biscuit Bakers Headline the Heritage Gingerbread Trail at Ginger & Spice Festival 2025
The Ginger & Spice Festival in Market Drayton is delighted to announce that Original Biscuit Bakers (OBB) will once again be the headline sponsors of the much-loved Heritage Gingerbread Trail & Contest. Taking place on Saturday 27th September 2025, the trail runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm and invites families to explore Market Drayton’s town centre while celebrating its unique gingerbread heritage.
A Family Favourite in Market Drayton
The Heritage Gingerbread Trail & Contest has become a highlight of the annual festival in Market Drayton, offering visitors a fun, interactive, and free way to discover the town. This year, 47 local businesses and organisations will proudly display imaginative gingerbread characters in their shop windows or premises, all dressed to the theme of “Characters from History”.
Families can collect a trail map, hunt for the gingerbread creations, and vote for their favourite. The character with the most public votes will win the People’s Choice Award, with additional winners selected by the Mayor of Market Drayton, Councillor Tim Manton, and guest judges Nick and Carol Ford from Acton Scott Heritage Farm.
Prizes to Be Won
Trail-goers who complete the map and answer all heritage questions correctly can enter a free prize draw. Categories include:
🧡 Adult winner: An artisan food & drink hamper
🧡 Child winner: A children’s gingerbread hamper
Winners will be announced after the festival, during the week commencing 29th September 2025.
