Get ready for the return of the Ginger & Spice Festival on Saturday 26th September 2026, taking place in Market Drayton during British Food Fortnight.
This award-winning community festival is free of charge and celebrates the town’s rich culinary heritage and social history through an eclectic programme of activities.
At its heart is the Ginger & Spice Festival Market, held in association with Müller UK & Ireland, featuring more than 60 artisan food producers, makers and independent traders.

Shropshire’s Spicy Secrets!
The ‘Market’ at Drayton was established by monks of nearby Combermere Abbey, so they could sell their home grown produce & wares. The market became the centre for trade in the area, and is still a thriving weekly market (Wednesday and Saturday).
Famed for its spicy biscuits, Billington’s Gingerbread, has been made in the town for over 200 years. The medieval market town is also twinned with Pézenas, in the South of France, due to its culinary links with the infamous ‘Clive of India’ who lived nearby.
